Shanghai Tang is a Hong Kong luxury fashion house founded in 1994 by Hong Kong businessman David Tang. The brand is known for its luxury homeware collection, and its fine bone china is the finest type of porcelain with its superior whiteness, translucency and higher strength. In 1998, Richemont acquired David Tang's controlling stake in the business.


A disgruntled employee said, "[Shanghai Tang] CEO tends to hire people that are incompetent or have limited experiences in their field of work. Judging from my own experiences, those employees hand picked by him, all of which at management levels, are actually the worst ever, in terms of performance, knowledge and leadership. You really need to give him credit though, on picking the worst apple every single time! Top management team, the CEO in particular, are completely out of touch with today's market, imagine a company run by these people! No planning, no nothing, complete chaos; Sexual and racists comments from CEO, scream like a 5 yr old if he saw something wasn't approved by his out dated commercial sense."

"- a self proclaimed luxury brand, price range is 2nd/3rd tier, quality of products brings it down to a 4th tier max - CEO tends to hire people that are incompetent or have limited experiences in their field of work. "Downtime was right after the New Year's day--the only traffic in was mainly clients returning items. Lackluster brand made selling items easier only after ads in major outlets were published. There were certainly not enough of publication around the brand; maybe the company tried to cut costs."

The meaning behind some of the symbols were very inspiring and motivating. Great small staff. Management always involved in selling and product knowledge, but there was absolutely no marketing or PR whatsoever for the brand."

"Their definition of an eligible stay is unclear and you don't know at the time of the booking whether it's eligible or not - probably written in some obscure places. Also, I stayed at Pan Pacific Perth, which is old and tattered. The water coming out of the bathtub is brown..."

"This is the worst hotel loyalty program around. I have stayed at 5 hotels this year and each time had to follow up to get my stay credited despite providing my membership at booking. I have just stayed at Tivoli in Sao Paulo, and there was no record of my membership so I had to request the 'platinum benefit'. I had also redeemed my platinum 'reward' but arrived to learn the spa had not received it from GHA nor was the spa open at that time despite GHA sending a certificate confirming award with date and time. I wont stay at Parkroyal, QT or Tivoli again. I will stay at Alila as it has seen the light and left GHA and gone to Hyatt. Run for the hills."

"Here's a good tip for every one that has dealing with the GHA parkhead in shettion Glasgow can they get away with force in eldly people to live in porcondsion ie damp slug infested places and yet try and pass them self of as GREAT HOME BETTER LIVES !!!! I DON'T THINK SO.these people have been thought the war with these people even had mp stergen just to be told she dose a lot for the refugees this is in Glasgow people wake up"
